2015 The Year Of Me

2015 the year of me

2015 the year of me

I posted that photo earlier today on Instagram. It was more of a personal declaration than anything else. Then I realised that it could be so much more. It is a commitment.

Whatever your reason may be, it can be easy to put yourself last. No more. I am declaring, giving permission and demanding that in 2015, you take care of yourself. That you make it a year of you.

This is not an excuse to be selfish. This is a calling to be kind to yourself, to treat yo self, and to actually action some self-care.

I will be blogging my “2015: The Year of Me” to give you tips, stories and inspiration to do the same. I would be delighted if you join me on this journey and use the hashtag #2015TheYearOfMe across social media platforms to share and inspire.

#2015TheYearOfMe

giant mocktail glass

When I thought about this earlier, I really wanted to get started. So I got started with myself. I’ve wanted one of those giant glasses (vases?) for a long time. I drove a few kms down the road and $20 later, I was back at home with a mocktail. Don’t wait for a day or time. Start now.

Will you join in 2015: The Year Of Me?

      Yes!!

  4. Sometimes I can’t decide if I’m doing it wrong or doing it right, but I never really worry about the whole ‘me time’ thing. I do appreciate that mums often sacrifice themselves for their family life, but (gulp) that’s rare for me. What I’m trying to say is: it’s all about me AND you for me. x

I think if you’ve never worried too much about the me time thing, you’ve probably found a natural balance, which is awesome 🙂

      1. Must have… or just have no concept any more of what’s out there 🙂 Good luck finding your balance, dear Vanessa. x

  5. Haha! What an excellent start buying that glass is Vanessa 🙂 I hope the year works out perfectly for you x

No time like the present is a cliche for a reason 🙂

  9. I love all about me, especially now the kids have grown up. Love your new glass, but mine would have had a drop or two of vodka! Enjoy!

I’m brainstorming a way to make this easy and inclusive – for now, use the hashtag #2015TheYearOfMe when you make the decision to put yourself first in some way – even if it’s stopping off for a coffee somewhere 🙂

  13. Awesome purchase to kick start a challenge like this! The quote “Help yourself before you can help others” springs to mind. Cheers to 2015, Beth.

    1. Thanks Beth 🙂
